Books I plan to read in February

Today I'm linking up with Sheila at The Deliberate Reader to talk about the books I'll be reading in February.

January was a terrific reading month. I finished the books I planned to read by the 23rd, so I felt like I was ahead of the game for once. Although I still haven't finished Americanah, which is left over from December.

In addition to the 8 books I planned to read in January, I finished 2 additional books - well, 1 novella and 1 book.

In February, I'll be reading these 8 books.

The Same Sky by Amanda Eyre Ward
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: It's my moms book club selection for February.

Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos
How did I get it: I own the paperback.
Why did I get it: I am reading it as part of my 2016 Re-Read Challenge.

Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles novellas) by Marissa Meyer
How did I get it: I will be borrowing it from the library as soon as they get a copy.
Why did I get it: I've read some of the Lunar Chronicle short stories before, but I need to read the rest, especially the wedding.

Glass Sword (Red Queen #2) by Victoria Aveyard
How did I get it: I will be borrowing it from the library as soon as they get a copy.
Why did I get it: I loved Red Queen, so obviously I'm dying to read the sequel.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
How did I get it: I borrowed the CD audio book from the library.
Why did I get it: This book will be my first Sarah Dessen. I'm reading it as part of my 2016 New Author challenge.

We Were Here by Matt de la Pena
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: This book is my YA book club selection for this month.

In Real Life by Jessica Love
How did I get it: I got the eARC from NetGalley.
Why did I get it: I have heard great things about this book, so I couldn't resist when I saw it on NetGalley.

The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave #2) by Rick Yancey
How did I get it: Jim bought it for me for Christmas.
Why did I get it: I loved The 5th Wave, so Jim knew I'd want to read the sequel. I'm going to try to read this book towards the end of the month. I don't want to re-read the series before the third book comes out in May. And I'm going to see the first movie on 2/8, so I want to wait until after that.

What are you reading this month?

  1. I hope you like In Real Life - I thought it was cute! Also Saint Anything was one I liked a lot last year. Can't wait to see what you think of Glass Sword and Stars Above. Happy reading!

    1. Thanks. I'm in the middle of In Read Life and liking it so far. I'm on disc 2 of Saint Anything. It's just getting started it feels like. The beginning was a little confusing, but I think I'm going to enjoy it.

Yes! I can't wait to read Glass Sword and Stars Above. I am on the hold list for both at the library. I hope they come in soon. :)

  2. Yay, Sarah Dessen! I listened to the audio for that one, too, and loved it. I need to read more of her stuff!

    1. I can't believe how many books she's written and somehow I hadn't even heard of her until I started blogging in May. I'm sure I'll end up reading more of her stuff after this book.

  3. I placed a hold for Glass Sword too! I'm excited for it. I have the novella book out from the library right now and will try to read it ahead of the 2nd book.

    1. Good idea! I need to put myself on the hold list for that book as well, but I've maxed out my holds. Ahh! Between Christopher and me, I already 25 books on my hold list. I made a note to reserve it after I pick up Christopher's next batch of books tomorrow. :)

  4. That sounds like a good list! I hope to read more this month. January was kind of a EEEEKS month. I did read Dog Medicine by Julie Barton which was a really good one!
Also I read another for a book review for postpartum depression. It took me a while to get through because it touched me on a personal level but it was good too.

    1. I hope you do get to read more. No matter what it is, reading is such a great way for me to recharge. I think my mother-in-law would like Dog Medicine. I'll mention it to her.

  5. The Same Sky was a favorite of mine from last year. It will be perfect for a book club with lots of topics to discuss.
