Top Ten Tuesday #15: Most Loved/Hated Characters

This week's topic was to write about either...Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don't Get or Ten Characters I Love But Others Seem To Dislike.

I completely failed. I couldn't come up with even one character that fit either of those descriptions. I Googled "best YA characters" and many other variations, and in every list I read, if I'd read the book, I loved the character. And I couldn't think of any beloved characters that I felt were left of the various lists I reviewed. Same thing for lists of awful characters. I agreed with them all.

I'm feeling completely unoriginal.

I'm call this one an epic fail.

I look forward to reading everyone else's lists and hopefully discovering some characters I have forgotten about or books I should read to beef up my top-ten-Tuesday skills for future weeks.

How did you do with this week's topic?

  1. Oh no! FWIW, I still love the meme you used. And job searching and a number of other projects means that I still don't have a blog of my very own (yet!), but if I did, I'd say that my most loved characters are the trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione from HP. Most hated is tough, but I remember that Celeste drove me crazy in the original Selection books.

    1. Thanks. Yeah, Hermione and Katniss came to mind as some of my favorites, but of course everyone loves them, so I didn't think I could use them. I did kind of dislike America from The Selection for her wishy-washy-ness, but you're right, Celeste was so much worse.

I very much look forward to reading your blog once you start it. :)

  2. Hahaha, I totally did the same thing! I was doing all sorts of googling trying to make my list :p Finally I just went to a friend's goodreads page that I love but never agree with her book tastes and was able to build a list from there :p

    My TTT.

    1. Glad I'm not the only one who struggled with this topic. I'll go check out your list.

  3. I had A LOT of trouble with this topic as well. I actually almost went with books rather than characters, since it was so difficult for me. But we had done a similar topic last year, so I was able to steal a few answers from that... plus I picked a few popular characters that I don't have any interest in meeting. So yeah, I had to cheat to do this topic... and I STILL didn't come up with 10!! LOL!! It was definitely a tricky one for sure. :)

    1. Yes, I saw your addition of characters you don't want to meet. I thought about doing that. I guess I was just not feeling very creative this week. And I was a little pressed for time. :)
