Books I plan to read in April

I'm linking up with Sheila at The Deliberate Reader again to share the books I'm planning on reading this month.

Last month I read 13 books. I finished 7 of the 9 books I planned to read in March. I'm in the middle of Just One Day, and I still need to read Emma. I also managed to read 6 other books. I had time for a couple of ebooks that I had bought when they were on sale, and I had to read the sequel to Time Between Us right away.

I plan to read these 12 books in April. Ambitious, I know. We'll see how it goes.

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
How did I get it: I borrowed the audiobook from the library.
Why did I get it: It's The Deliberate Reader book club selection for April. I haven't participated in this online club yet, but I really want to this month. And I keep hearing great things about this book.

This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: I've been wanting to read this book since I first saw the cover. I like intense stories, and this one about a school shooting appealed to me right away.

The Mapmaker's Children by Sarah McCoy
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: It's my mom's book club selection for this month. I suggested it after reading this review on All the Books I Haven't Read.

Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid
How did I get it: I own it thanks to my TBTB Secret Santa.
Why did I get it: Alternate realities. How could I resist? And I've read a lot of great reviews, including this one from Bookmark Lit back in September.

The Orphan Sister by Gwendolyn Gross
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: Triplets. I mentioned this book in my auto-read discussion post. I couldn't resist this description. I didn't just put it on my TBR list. I reserved it from the library as soon as I heard about it.

Just My Luck by Cammie McGovern
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: I love Cammie McGovern's books, so I'm going to read this one even though I'm not a huge fan of middle grade books. Plus, how cute is this cover?

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
How did I get it: I borrowed the audiobook from the library.
Why did I get it: I read The Secret Life of Bees years ago, and I had heard this book was good. But it wasn't until someone reviewed it and discussed what it was about that I knew I had to read it right away.

Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: It's my YA book club selection this month. I am so intrigued by the description, and I have read some really great reviews so far. I first heard about the book in an email from NetGalley, and I only resisted requesting it because I had already committed to so many books. I'm excited to be reading it so soon after the release. I'm pretty sure I'm the first person to get my library's copy.

The Perfect Comeback of Caroline Jacobs by Matthew Dicks
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: I absolutely loved Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend, and I have been wanting to read something else by Dicks. I'm really excited about this book.

Imaginary Things by Andrea Lochen
How did I get it: I borrowed it from the library.
Why did I get it: I have been wanting to read this book since it released last year. My library finally has it. I enjoyed her writing in The Repeat Year, and I am so intrigued by the description of this book.

Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
How did I get it: I own it.
Why did I get it: I selected this book as this month's re-read challenge book. I really liked this sibling story when I was younger. I haven't read it in about 10 years, so I thought I'd see if it still appeals to me.

Steelheart (Reckoners #1) by Brandon Sanderson
How did I get it: I bought the Kindle book.
Why did I get it: It's my new author challenge book. Cassi @ My Thoughts Literally talks about Brandon Sanderson all the time, so I'm finally going to check him out.

What are you reading this month?
