Summer Reading Book Bingo

In the spring I started to see Book Bingo images pop up on blogs and other social media sites, but many seemed to be geared towards older readers. I wanted one for Christopher that would work well for picture books and early chapter books, so I decided to make my own!

I haven't printed it for him yet because he's still pretty pumped about our library's Summer Reading Program. I'm going to save this for July when his enthusiasm has worn off a bit, and he needs some additional inspiration in his reading life.

I couldn't figure out how to embed a PDF, so if you would like a copy of this book bingo PDF, please email me at momsradius@gmail.com.

How do you encourage your kids to read over the summer? Have you ever used Book Bingo?

  1. This is a really cute idea to keep the kids interest in reading!! I actually have never done a book bingo myself but always think it looks fun when I see them skating around.

    1. I haven't done one either. I was planning to do one this spring, but it just got too crazy. I think this will be something fun to do with Christopher.

  3. That's a great idea! About the only thing I remember about fourth grade is that our teacher had a bingo card like that for reading, and we had to complete at least one bingo each quarter. I don't remember for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if I had filled the entire card... Hope Christopher has fun with it! :)
