Kid Lit: Do Princesses and Super Heroes Hit the Trails?

I received this book for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

To be published on September 30, 2016.

Goodreads Summary:
Another fantastic and inspiring book from the author of the Do Princesses...? series! Join our favorite princess and her super hero companion as they explore the national parks and discover that the Great Outdoors hold a bounty of excitement and adventure!

My Thoughts:
This book came out just in time for the 100th anniversary of the National Parks System. It's a great read aloud for kids ages 3-5. It features a family looking for something fun to do. Each 2-page spread features a different National Park as well as a rhyming stanza highlighting a feature of the park. The message being that there are many parks and many things to discover.

The illustrations are really sweet. They depict a brother and sister exploring the parks with their parents. My favorite page was Zion National Park's "narrows" hike, which I did with my family when I was 16. I also loved the Denali National Park drawing. It looked just like some of the pictures I took when I was there in 2003 - although in cartoon form of course.

Any family that loves the outdoors or aspires to visit all of the parks will love this book.

My Rating: 4 stars

I'm linking up with Booking Mama today for Kid Konnection. Every Saturday Julie hosts this link up for all things relating to children's books.

Month in Review: September 2015

  1. I know someone this is perfect for!

    1. Awesome! It's really fun. I need to get a physical copy and read it with my son. It's too hard to read the eARCs with him.

  2. Oh I love books that promote the National Parks. I may have to add this to our Christmas stash for my nieces.

    1. I know. Me too. I hope they enjoy it.
